Polar plungers are needed to help raise funds for a special group of athletes.

The 13th annual Upper West Tennessee Special Olympics Polar Plunge will take place on Saturday, February 3rd at Aloha Pools and Spas in Union City.

Each participant must raise a minimum of $75 to take the plunge, and can earn incentives by reaching fundraising goals.

The goal for this year’s Polar Plunge is $20,000.

Funds raised will benefit over 400 athletes in Special Olympics activities in Lake, Obion, Weakley, Henry, and Carroll counties.

The mission of Special Olympics of Upper West Tennessee is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
