Weakley County Mayor Jake Bynum reminds local residents the Respite Warming Center at 120 Manley Street in Martin is open again this Tuesday from 8:00 until 5:00 PM. Cots, snacks, and a hot lunch are provided for those need help staying warm.
In another matter Mayor Bynum reports in a TVA phone call that over the next several days, TVA and WCMES may experience a record power demand.
Peak demand begins this Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 through Wednesday at 10:00 AM.
Mayor Bynum said TVA does not anticipate the same issues experienced during last year’s winter storm however TVA is encouraging customers to conserve electricity when possible.
