‘Willie Nelson & Family’ docuseries to premiere on Paramount+

Willie Nelson & Family will premiere as a four-part documentary series exclusively on Paramount+ on Thursday, Dec. 21.  The docuseries about legendary country artist Willie Nelson will tell the artist’s story, sharing details about his life from some of the industry’s most beloved stars. The docuseries initially premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and is executive produced by Yellowstone’s Taylor Sheridan, along with Thom Zimny and Oren Moverman.

Paramount+ and CMT shared a trailer of the docuseries on Instagram, with the caption: “Love, Truth, Music, and Family: This is the story of an American icon. Willie Nelson & Family premieres December 21, only on #ParamountPlus” Nelson celebrated his 90th birthday in April, the docuseries will feature interivews with Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, Kenny Chesney, Sheryl Crow, Rosanne Cash, Bill Anderson and many more.

Producer Sheridan said, per CMT: “Willie’s music formed the soundtrack of my youth. His songwriting helped shape me as a storyteller. Willie is a national treasure, and his story will serve as inspiration for all those seeking their own path that leads away from the clouds of compromise. Willie has opened his life to us — warts and all — to serve as a beacon to overcoming failure, realizing dreams, and keeping your compass once the dream is achieved.”
