Lake County senior running back Calvin Mullins set the school’s single-game rushing record with 416 yards as the Falcons defeated Halls 38-19 Friday.

Mullins tallied five touchdowns on 43 carries, averaging 9.7 yards per carry.

The previous Lake County single-game rushing record was 343 yards, set by Stavonski Wilkes in 2014 against Humboldt.

According to the TSSAA record book, Mullins became the 17th player in Tennessee high school football history to rush for more than 400 yards in a game. In addition, his 43 rushing attempts were the 11th most for an individual in a game in state history.

The win was the second straight for Lake County, now 2-3 overall and 2-1 in Region 7-1A. The Falcons host Humboldt next Friday.
